I couldn’t ask for a better experience in publishing for a first time writer.I knew nothing. I was helped every step of the way by knowledgeable and very efficient, EXTREMELY patient, staff. It was as though I knew them personally and they had a personal interest in the success of my book. Their helpful suggestions were always spot on! Whomever is responsible for the cover design deserves special kudos! It’s always the first compliment before the book is even opened!!! I can’t wait to do it again!

We were very impressed with the professionalism, service and good humor that Frist Edition Design, and especially Debi Gordon provided us throughout this process. We had spoken to several other publishers, and First Edition has by far the most simple, straight forward process. They are head and shoulders above their competition, and I would highly recommend them to any interested in publishing.

I didn’t know where to start until a friend gave me a list of publishers, showing what they offer and how good they were. I chose First Edition Design Publishing because they were top of the list. I sent a few queries to the support email address and they were dealt with quickly and courteously. Thank you for making what I thought would be a long, complicated process so easy!

My ebook The Paprika Diary was initially being published by a different company. When they mistakenly sent me another author’s proof instead of my own, I decided to drop them, and find a more reliable publisher. I chose FED and they have not disappointed me. For a reasonable price, they offer high quality service. Just the way I like it! Debi is a spectacular person who always replied to my emails even late at night…a true professional. I felt like I was always in the driver’s seat with regards to how I wanted my cover to look, but with Debi’s advice, I was guided to the right one. No matter how many times I changed the content, Debi was fine with it. Once I approved the book file, FED distributed it quickly. The only problem I had is with amazon.ca. When FED redistributed an update, amazon.ca continued to sell the old version even though the “look inside” shows the update. Since I have a mac pro laptop, I was able to buy the updated version from iBooks…no problem at all. Debi is in touch with Amazon to offer assistance, so she continues to care about me and my book even at the distribution stage. If I decide to make more content changes later, I know Debi will work with me to get it done quickly.
I absolutely recommend FED to authors who want to publish a book.

It’s easy to forget what real customer service is, until you experience it first hand. Debi Gordon of First Edition Design and Publishing guided me through all of the steps of publishing my book and was always (cheerfully) focused on a professional end product. I asked many questions along the way and I always received a prompt, informative response, even at 8pm! I found that my investment in proof reading by First Edition was also a smart decision. Kirsten was very thorough, had a keen eye, and demonstrated she was interested in my story and not just my grammar faux paus’. Thanks for all of the help!
